Founded in 2010, Partners Senegal is committed to increasing the capacity of African agents of change to achieve peaceful development, strengthened democracy and rule of law throughout the continent.
The Centers Area’s of Programmatic Focus:
- Good Governance: Increasing cross-sector cooperation between local government and civil society by providing both sectors with the skills to effectively work together.
- Civil Society Development and Coalition Building: Increasing the effectiveness of civil society at the national and local level by building the skills to successfully form coalitions and cooperate. Regional programming to address cross-country issues in West Africa.
- Security Sector Reform: Improving the subordination and responsiveness of African security sectors to civilian leadership through increased collaboration between security sector actors, civil society organizations, and government officials.
- Youth Leadership: Enhancing the skills of youth and government officials to more effectively engage with each other so that youth actively participate in the national civic engagement strategies.
Vision: Partners Senegal envisions healthy, educated and prosperous West African citizens living in countries which are justly and democratically governed.
Mission: Partners Senegal – Center for Civic Collaboration is a committed Leader in developing civil society organizations as credible partners in the pursuit of democracy, development and rule of law throughout West Africa. The Center brings together civil society leaders, government actors, academics and private sector representatives to promote dialogue, transparency, good governance and youth engagement in national and local development processes.

Partners Senegal was founded with support from Partners for Democratic Change, and is part of Partners for Democratic Change International (PDCI), which is a global network of organizations for democratization and conflict management. PDCI facilitates the exchange of expertise between centers around the world and the mobilization of international teams of experts. In supporting new centers throughout the world, PDCI ensures the transfer of knowledge and experience from established organizations to new ones. This ensures quality training and improved organizational development capacities, as well as the sharing of perspectives and experiences of conflict management and democritization across regions. PDCI Centers are currently located in: Albania, Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Colombia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Hungary, Indonesia, Jordan, Kosovo, Lithuania, Mexico, Peru, Poland, Romania, Senegal, Serbia, Slovakia, Yemen.
